DRAM price debate continues

By Tom Stundza -- Purchasing, 1/30/2008 8:47:00 AM

The question of how low prices of dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chips can go continues. Prices on the DRAMexchange recently ticked up to their highest point in three months, as chipmakers unveiled plans to hold capacity additions until prices stopped sliding. However, theyt have since started back down. “The industry is not far from the bottom, given the price of DRAM chips has been sold under cash level for three months while inventory has become lean,” suggests analyst Naiwen Kerr at the Lehman Brothers offices in Taipei.
